Went to a a Mustang show that is held annually at a local Ford dealer. A wild 4 cylinder EcoBoost equipped 2015 Mustang appeared!
I like what they've done with the center console.

Looks good in that color.

It will never be light.

With the growth over the years since the first S197 in weight, it's almost comical. My 2005 GT has the base cloth interior. It weighs less than most V6 cars and probably weighs about 500 pounds less than a comparably equipped 2015.

This lacks refinement and looks very bad.

Your base GT also doesn't have IRS and ten years worth of chassis development in it. Do you think cars get heavier every year because every automaker on earth just wants to piss on Colin Chapman's grave? Chassis legs and crumple zones - in weight or money - are not cheap, and better ones will always mean more weight.

The rounded center console is a nice touch in my opinion. Brings the interior together.

I forgot to add. I got to see the line-lock in action as I stuck aroun for a few minutes after the official end of the show. Works swimmingly. The 4-pot has the ability to boil the Good Year Eagle F1's the wheels are shod with quite handily.

But would it have looked better/cleaner if those cupholders were in the middle of that tunnel instead of bulging out of one side? I think so.

To be fair, a vast majority of the average weight gained on the S197 platform over it's life was interior amenities. Heated seats are heavy. After all the reports that this car was SUPPOSED to be lighter only to be shown to be false was a letdown for me.

Maybe I need to see it IRL, but for me it lacks refinement especially with all that chrome.

I think the chrome is part of an interior upgrade package. My model year had the same thing. I ordered the car without. I would do the same with this one if I were in the market. Very mixed reactions on the car from the Mustang faithful.

Agreed, makes it look cheap / from the 90's imo.

Heavy? Ain't care, I still would like to have one.

How did it sound?

I like it a lot, can't wait to see one in person soon. When do they hit the dealerships?

Pretty quiet. Do not worry about any F&F overtness from it. There is none. You can drive to a your job as a professional and not have other coworkers shake their heads when you pull in.

No idea. Hundreds of guys who own Mustangs show up on a Sunday (and some of these guys HAVE to have the latest thing) and a new car is there, yet no brochures or literature of any kind. I found that odd.
